[Also in Divisions B2 and B6] A hand liquid applying device, adapted to be filled by a dropper, comprises a cylindrical body 5 containing a liquid reservoir and having detachably attached at one end thereof a pen nib 10 (or felt point or pad), the flow of liquid from the reservoir to the nib (or point or pad) being controlled by a valve comprising a conical wedge part 7 which is screwthreaded on a rod 4 which passes through the reservoir and is screwthreaded on a knob 1 extending from the cylindrical body 5, the arrangement being such that turning of the knob 1 in a clockwise direction closes the valve and turning of the knob 1 in an anticlockwise direction opens the valve. To fill the device the cap 11 and part 8 holding the nib 10 are removed, the knob 1 is turned in anticlockwise direction which results in valve wedge 7 moving away from its seat and liquid is then introduced through the open valve.
