Abstract

990,561. Electric motors. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. April 25, 1962 [April 26, 1961], No. 15846/62. Heading H2A. [Also in Division H3] A D.C. motor includes a rotor 2, Fig. 1, which either is permanently magnetized or has a winding 3 energized by direct current when the motor is in use, a stator 1 having a winding in two interconnected halves 6A, 6B disposed substantially 180 degrees apart around the stator periphery, two controllable four-layer semi-conductor devices 9, 10 each having one end connected to the other device and the other end connected to a corresponding end of the stator winding, quenching means 11 connected to the devices, a Hall generator 26 (Fig. 2), and magnetic means which move when the rotor 2 turns, the circuit being such that during operation, when a unidirectional voltage U A is applied between the junction of the devices and the interconnection between the winding halves the magnetic means control the Hall generator voltage whose signals cause the devices to conduct alternately. To ensure starting one or more further halved stator windings 19A, 19B and associated devices 22, 23 may be provided, and the magnetic means may be either permanently magnetic pins 17, 18 carried by a control disc 15 mounted on the rotor shaft 16 or magnetic marks on the shaft itself. The device control stage 14 comprises in one embodiment, Fig. 2, a relaxation amplifier 30 consisting of two transistors 31, 32 in pushpull and connected to the Hall electrodes; a control voltage U s is fed through a motor reversing switch 27 to the Hall generator, and the output voltage is applied to resistances 46, 47. An alternative control stage 14 employs, Fig. 3, not shown, tunnel diodes and transformers connected to the Hall generator 26.
