Abstract

An elastomeric material is produced in particle form by adding materials which prevent or minimize the tendency of elastomeric particles to agglomerate to the elastomeric materials in the presence of a liquid vehicle or solvent, evaporating this liquid on drying the product. Specified elastomeric materials are butyl rubber, polybutadiene, polyisobutylene and butadiene-styrene while talc, diatomaceous earth, kieselguhr, magnesia, a metal stearate, a mineral, vegetable or synthetic oil, a metal oxide, a metal powder, carbon black, silica, kaolin, clay, sawdust and powdered polyolefins are specified anti-agglomerants. The anti-agglomerant may be added to a slurry, suspension, emulsion, latex or solution of the elastomer.
