Abstract

A composition comprising cis-polybutadiene 70-90 parts by weight and another elastomer (defined) 30-10 parts by weight together with carbon black and a vulcanization system comprising 0.5 to 1.2 parts by weight of an N-substituted benzthiazyl sulphenamide and 0.7 to 2.0 parts by weight of sulphur based on 100 parts of elastomer, is vulcanized at 130 DEG -170 DEG . The other elastomer is defined as a polybutadiene having a different structure, synthetic polyisoprene, polychlorobutadiene, polyisobutylene, and copolymers of butadiene and acrylonitrile. The composition may also contain SBR and salts such as barium oleate.
