Fabrics for garments or upholstery especially stretchable fabrics for ski-trousers and wind cheaters, comprise a flexible foamed layer, preferably of plastics material, having bonded to one side a fabric preferably of stretchable crimped yams, and having a layer of electrostatically deposited plastics flock on the other side. The component layers may be bonded by adhesives such as phenol-formaldehyde or epoxy resins, cellulose derivations or polyamides. The fabric may be of crimped yams of silk or polymeric material such as polyamide and the foam material may comprise phenolureaformaldehyde resins, isocyanate-polyester resins, silicones, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl formal, cellulose acetate or synthetic rubber. The flock may be bonded with adhesive such as polyvinyl butyral or polyisobutylene.
