Abstract

A paraboloidal reflector has a base formed of an elastomeric resin, a thermosetting resin, glass foam, metal foam, gypsum or bismuth and a reflecting layer of Zn, Sn, Cu, Ni, Al, Ag, Cr, Cd, Co, Pt, Ir, Mo, Pa, Rh, or Ta, or alloys thereof applied by vacuum deposition, electroless deposition, or spraying. Zn or Al may be sprayed on to a resin before it is completely cured and a final, thin, layer of resin may later be applied as a protection. Specification 966,948 is referred to.
