Abstract
988,796. Load carriers. T. H. BOWERS. Aug. 20, 1963 [May 28, 1962], No. 20418/62. Heading A3V. [Also in Division A6] . A support device used as a load carrier or as a golf trainer comprises a leathersheathed metal shoulder member 10 carrying an apertured block 15 through which pass steel wires 21, 22 to form loops 11, 12, which respectively lie across the chest and back through the opposite armpit, and under the armpit on the side of the shoulder member. In the loop 11 the wires 21, 22 are enclosed in sheaths 28, 29 which with blocks 30 form Bowden cables, and the wires are joined to form a loop by an elastic cord or spring passing through a tube also provided with blocks 30 (Fig. 3, not shown). The wires 21, 22 in the loop 12 have loose sheaths 34 and terminate in wire loops 24 secured on a spring clip 25 which carries an adjustable leather strap 26 hooked to a glove 13. The glove 13 has a small ring 35 on the wrist and secured by a gut loop under a leather fillet 36 stitched to the glove.
