986,804. Portable containers; packages. HUILERIES ANTONIN ROUX & SAVONNERIES J. B. PAUL. Nov. 16, 1961 [June 30, 1961], No. 41037/61. Headings B8C and B8D. A container for protecting substances liable to oxidation comprises an inner receptacle, e.g. a bottle 1, formed of a plastics material which is permeable to oxygen and an outer casing 5 of a film material, less permeable to oxygen than the bottle 1 and which is sealed after inserting the inner receptacle. The casing 5 is in direct contact with the bottle, over most of its surface any interspace may be filled with a gas inert to the bottle contents. The casing may be made of a gas-permeable film coated with a non-gaspermeable material, and may be of cellulose acetate or plasticized cellulose paper. The bottle may contain vegetable oil, the casing acting as a screen against radiation liable to cause discoloration of the oil.
