Abstract

986,023. Hinges and pivots. HELLERMANN Ltd. Dec. 13, 1963 [Nov. 9, 1962], No. 42403/62. Heading E2F. [Also in Division B3] A tool comprises two members pivoted together and clamping means holding in slidably abutting contact two bearing surface parts which are tending to separate and define a cavity around the pivot. Each part 10, 11 is formed with a recess 15, 16 so that when the parts are assembled with a rivet 13 there is a cavity between them around the pivot. When the rivet is peened over into the washer 19 the bearing surfaces are flattened to give a large area of contact. In a modification a recess is formed in one member only and in a further modification one member is concave and the other convex.
