Abstract

985,923. Tractor attachments for handling bales. R. A. LISTER & CO. Ltd. Dec. 1, 1961 [Jan. 12, 1961], No. 1363/61. Heading B8H. In a bale support comprising parallel tines secured to a frame adapted to be mounted on luffing arms 16 or lift links 17, 18 of a tractor, each tine 10 is secured in a hole in a crossmember 11 and is shaped so that a portion of the tine is inclined downwardly from the crossmember when the cross-member rests on a supporting surface, a rectilinear portion 10b rests on the surface and an end portion 10c is formed with a downwardly-directed point 10d. The tines may be of circular or triangular crosssection and may be welded to the crossmember 11 or may be secured thereto by a nut, Fig. 7 (not shown). The frame is provided with side members 15 to which a safety crossbar may be attached, and an extension frame, Fig. 5 (not shown), may be mounted on top of the frame. A tipping ram 27 is adjustably connected to the frame.
