Abstract

A shuttle carries two permanent magnets which induce pulses in a coil situated along its flight path. The time between these pulses is compared with a standard length pulse and an electronic circuit is provided to actuate a relay to stop the loom if the two pulses are separated by longer than the duration of the standard pulse, i.e. if the shuttle is moving too slowly. Alternatively there may be one permanent magnet and two sensing coils.
