A transistor oscillator TR1 with resonant base circuit C 2 , L 1 is frequency modulated by modulation applied to its collector circuit to vary the collector/base capacitance, or, to prevent amplitude modulation, by using a separate modulator transistor TR 2 whose modulated value of collector/base capacitance is coupled in parallel with that of transistor oscillator TR 1 by coupling capacitors C 6 , C 7 .
