985,155. Upholstery. J. FEINERMAN. July 30, 1963, No. 30092/63. Heading A4M. An upholstery panel 10, for "biscuit" upholstery having adjacent pillows P1, P2, P3, comprises a backing 12, of burlap, to which is secured a panel 14 of muslin or upholstery fabric, cut to the pattern shown in Fig. 3 and preformed to provide pillows each having a front face 16 and depending side walls 18, 20, 22, 24 by stitching the side walls to each other at 28. The panel 14 is stitched to the backing at S along mounting borders 26 and between the pillows, openings being left for insertion of a nozzle N which is connected to a power blower and through which stuffing material in the form of shredded waste rubber, polyester fibre &c. is blown into the pillows. Staples 32 close the openings after the pillows have been filled. In a modification shown in Fig. 5 the pillows are contoured, the front panel providing side walls of different and varying heights, and being formed by a single sheet or three sheets each providing three aligned pillows. The front panel may be made of leather or other stiff upholstery material the stitching between the pillows being replaced by tacking at the corners of the pillows.
