Abstract

984,782. Toy vehicles. MECCANO Ltd. Feb. 13, 1964 [March 4, 1963], No. 8618/63. Heading A6S. A model vehicle has a battery operated directionindicating light responsive to the steering mechanism with means for intermittently interrupting connection to the light bulb. In the embodiment described a fork-shaped leaf spring 30 on the chassis having leaves 28, 29 retains the front axle 31 between locating pins 38. When the chassis 11 is tilted to left or right one end of the axle 31 rides up into upwardly extending slots 41, 42, according to the direction of turning, and one of the leaves 28, 29 makes contact with contact 27 or 26, respectively, to complete circuit to the indicating lamp 25 or 24, respectively. Intermittent flashing of the light is obtained by means of a cam 19 whose rotation during travel of the vehicle interrupts the electric circuit. Interruption of the circuit can also be obtained even when the vehicle is stationary by means of bimetal switches in the lamps.
