Abstract

983,979. Storage racks. PALMER SHILE CO. Feb. 11, 1964 [Nov. 18, 1963], No. 5746/64. Headings A4B and A4H. A cantilever storage rack comprises columns 13 and elongated load supporting arms 14 which are attached to the columns by U-shaped brackets 32, secured to the inner ends of the arms 14, and embracing the side surfaces of the columns so that pins 36 may be inserted through pairs of aligned apertures 33 and 34 in the columns 13 and brackets 32 respectively, at least one of the pairs of apertures 33 or 34 having inclined edges whereby a load applied on the arms 14 will cause the brackets 32 to be wedged against the columns 13. All of the apertures 33 and 34 are shown to be inclined and the apertures 34 to be of trapezoidal shape. Several columns may be interconnected by members 25, 26 and the columns may be supported on bases 12.
