Abstract
983,800. Sieves. BUHLER GEB. Jan. 31, 1964 [Feb. 1, 1963], No. 4193/64. Heading B2H. A sieve web 15 is tensioned over the edge of a sieve frame 1, Fig. 1, by a tensioning ledge 11, a element 4 on the frame and an element 16 on the ledge each having a nose, the noses being interchangeable, and at least one of these elements having a plurality of noses forming a toothed rack for adjusting the tension of the web. In Fig. 1, the tensioning ledge 11 is urged by a spring 17 towards the rack-element 4 which is secured on the frame. Fig. 7 shows an embodiment in which the toothed rack is provided on the tensioning ledge 42 together with a grip 43. The sieve may be of circular or rectangular form and arranged in a plansifter with the interposition of protective strips 36, 37 as shown in Fig. 2. In Fig. 2, the web 15 is secured to the tensioning ledge by a clamp 23 urged into position by spring-loaded pins 24 connected to a slotted bar 28. In a further embodiment, rack-elements are provided near each corner of the frame for engagement with the ends of bars secured along the edges of the web.
