[Also in Division A4] In a liquid dispensing device, e.g. for passing predetermined amounts of boiling water through coffee, boiling water is passed via tubes 12, 13 to a valve chamber 3, thence via conduit 16 to a reservoir chamber 17 causing deflection of a deformable wall 49 and water to be pushed via conduit 15, valve chamber 2 and conduit 20 to coffee in a filter 21. The cycle is reversed by turning a disc member 26 which lifts plungers 23, 24 and depresses plungers 22, 25. Disc member 26 is held down by a spring 26 compressed by a flanged nut 29, and has concentric grooves coacting with the valve plungers, each groove having a shallower portion arranged so that when the inlet 4 of valve chamber 3 is open and vice versa, the other inlet and outlet in each case remain sealed by flexible valve members 10, 11 respectively. To dispense water freely through the filter, disc 26 is turned to an intermediate position in which all valve plungers are raised.
