Abstract

983,564. Change-speed control. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. Feb. 6, 1964 [April 11, 1963], No. 14701/63. Addition to 935,501. Heading F2D. The manual gear-shift mechanism described in the parent Specification is modified by the selector spade 52 having recesses 54, 56 which are respectively engageable with a lug 74 of a - striker fork 70 for establishing 4th and 3rd ratios, and with lugs 76, 82 of a striker fork 72 for 2nd and 1st ratios and of a striker device for reverse. The interlock sleeve 60 is formed with circumferential grooves 66, 68 retaining the unselected strikers in their neutral positions, and has a transverse slot 64 engaged by a detent pin 64 projecting from the gearbox casing to locate the sleeve 60 axially and to limit its rotary movement.
