Abstract

Epoxide resins derived from epichlorohydrin and 2,2-bis(p-hydroxyphenyl)propane containing hydroxyl groups are modified by reaction with a minor proportion of phosphoryl triisocyanate or phosphorus triisocyanate. The reaction takes place by the formation of urethane groups from the hydroxyl groups of the epoxide resins. The products contain unreacted epoxide groups and may be cured by means of tertiary amines or aliphatic polyamines. The products may be used as adhesives. Examples are given.
