Abstract

Compositions for improving venous or venolymphatic circulatory troubles in limbs comprise 1 to 20 parts by weight of at least one angiotonic agent selected from benzoin tincture, hamamelis liquid extract and preparations containing Vitamin P, e.g. horse-chestnut extracts, and 2 to 16 parts by weight of at least one volatile cooling agent selected from acetone, camphor, menthol, ethyl ether and chloroform. The compositions may also contain 97 to 64 parts by weight of two carriers, one being selected from glycerol, aqueous glycerol, hydroethanolic glycerol, propylene glycol and ointment excipients, the other being ethyl alcohol (90% by volume). Other optional ingredients include azulene, allantoin and histamine. The compositions are generally applied to the skin in the form of a solution, which may be impregnated on a bandage, or as a spray. Specification 979,184 is referred to.
