981,108. Counters. ELMEG ELEKTROMECHANIK G.m.b.H. Aug. 2,1963 [Aug. 2, 1962], No. 30796/63. Heading G4D. An electromagnetically-operated cyclometer type of counter comprises transfer mechanism which is normally inoperative but is positioned at transfer in the path of an electromagnetically operated bail. A cam 9 on a lower-denomination wheel normally maintains a spring-pressed lever 13 in clockwise position out of the path of a bail 28 oscillated in synchronism with the incoming pulses which advance the units wheel electromagnetically in known manner. When the lower wheel reaches ninth position pin 12 drops into recess 24 (Fig. 3, not shown) to swing lever 13 to counterclockwise position. The next impulse therefore advances the units wheel and at the same time bail 28 drives lever 13 downwards to advance the tens wheel, Fig. 4. Projection 17 limits this movement. A double bent lug 12<SP>1</SP> prevents transfer except when all the lower wheels are in ninth position.
