Abstract

980,674. Paper-making apparatus. DOMINION ENGINEERING WORKS Ltd. Oct. 24, 1963 [Nov. 29, 1962], No. 42055/63. Heading D2A. A drainage foil for a Fourdrinier papermaking machine comprises a body 10 having a foil leading portion 11, a separate foil trailing portion 20b, a flexible impervious member 21 connected to foil portions 11 and 20b, an adjusting bar 17 carried by body 10, and projections 18 on, and inclined grooves 19 in bar 17 and foil portion 20 respectively, or vice versa, whereby portion 20 may be angularly adjusted relative to portion 11. Bar 17 is connected to a screw 27 (Fig. 1 not shown) for sliding movement in brackets 12 fixed to body 10. Member 21, which is of spring steel, has a non metal covering 24. Specification 948, 891 is referred to.
