980,556. Axle box guides. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NURNBERG A.G. Nov. 8, 1961, No. 40034/61. Heading B7L. A railway vehicle axle box 2, Figs. 1 and 2, is carried by a rigid swing arm comprised of side plates 3, 4 joined by a plate 5, the arm being pivoted at one end to a bracket 6 on the bogie frame 7 and the other end which extends beyond the box 2 is provided with a pair of rollers 13, 14 engaging vertical free plates 16, 15 attached to a support 19 carried by the frame. The rollers 13, 14 are mounted on pins 11, 12 carried by transverse vertical plates 10, 10a and 9, 9a secured to the side plates 4, 3 and the vertical plates 15, 16 are carried by the support 19 with the interpositioning of rubber blocks 17, 18. The arm supports the frame 7 by means of a spring 8 engaging the plate 5. The rollers, which may be crowned or replaced by balls, may be carried by the support 19 and the plates 16, 16 carried by the arm. Specifications 633,506 and 870,577 are referred to.
