A conveyer chain has double-plate links interconnected by elements 1 each containing a perpendicular pair of pivot pins 3, and an axle 4 at the centre of each link carries a pair of guide rollers outside the link plates. The plates may be cranked, as shown, or plane. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the cranked portions 6 lie closer to the connectors 1 and a pair of spacers is mounted between the plates, one in each of the spaces between the axle 4 and the cranked portions 6.
