[Also in Division G1] In a fluid pressure shut-off valve used to prevent damage to a pressure gauge, a conical valve closure 8 is connected, via a stem 9, to a piston 10 which is in sealing engagement within a bore 3. The closure 8 seals in contact with a seat 4 to guard the outlet 5 from the effect of pressure at the inlet 2 when this overcomes the unseating force of a spring 17. The loading of the spring 17 can be adjusted by axial movement of member 18. The spring 17 may be replaced by a compressible gas or a rubber block.
