Abstract

978,508. Refrigerators. HELSINGBORGS FRYSHUS A.B. May 9, 1961 [May 10, 19601, No. 16902/61. Heading F4H. Products such as fish or peas are frozen by conveying them on imperforate endless belts 2 through an enclosed space 1 beneath units 3 adapted to discharge chilled air around the goods. At one side, the space 1 contains an air chiller and circulating fan and it may have end charging and discharging stations 18, 19. A washer for the belts may be provided. As shown in Fig. 3, each unit has air discharge jets 6 between which are disposed open-ended ducts 7 for exhausting spent air. At a glazing station, Fig. 4, two sets of air nozzles 8 disposed in tandem serve a pair of adjacent belts and have an entry duct 9 for chilled air. Scrapers 13 mounted on shafts 15 vibrated by units 14 engage the belts to prevent adhesion of the products. The scraper blades are so set as to direct the products towards the centre of the belts. Units 3 may discharge air at different relative temperatures.
