[Also in Division H2] A velocity sensitive actuating device for an electric switch, fluid valve, condenser element or potentiometer comprises a rotatable shaft 113 carrying a conducting disc 115 which passes between permanent magnets 119 on plates 117, 118. The eddy-currents set up on rotation of the disc 115 cause rotation in the same direction of the assembly 116 comprising magnets 119, plates 117, 118 and connecting straps 120. The axes of the shaft 113 and assembly 116 are close together and the plate 117 has a projection (not shown) for operation of a microswitch.
