Abstract

977,700. Dispensing cartons. W. C. BLATCHFORD. (Ex-Cell-O Corporation). Nov. 12, 1963. No. 44582/63. Heading B8P. The surfaces 46, 47, 48, 49 of a pouring lip of a dispensing carton are rendered non-adhesive by application of an adhesive layer containing a polysiloxane gum over the thermoplastic surface of the closure. The adhesive is applied with inking or gluing equipment and the peakroofed carton is heat sealed. A suitable composition of the adhesive is disclosed in the Specification. In the described embodiment the carton is coated with polyethylene, the coating being .75mils. thick outside and 1.5 mils. thick inside. Other suitable films are given.
