Abstract
1,075,752. Laminates. RIEGEL PAPER CORPORATION. Aug. 4, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1963], No. 31127/64. Heading B5N. Flexible packaging material comprises a layer of paper 11, such as glassine, bonded to plastics film 13, e.g. polythene, of greater stretchability, using a weak bonding agent 14, e.g. a mixture of paraffin wax and butyl rubber in the ratio 95% wax to 5% rubber, the paper layer being impervious to the bonding agent. A layer 12 of polythene may be applied such as by extrusion to the inner face of the glassine prior to bonding. Two layers of the packaging material may be placed one on top of the other with the glassine outermost and heat sealed peripherally to form a package.
