Abstract

977,511. Cleaning beer pipes. FLOWERS BREWERIES Ltd., and A. M. HILL. May 4, 1961 [April 7, 1960], No. 12455/60. Heading F2N. In a method of cleaning a pressure-fed liquid dispensing system including a container 10 for the liquid to be dispensed, a source of pressure 11 connected to the container, control means 15 to control the admission of pressure to the container and a liquid dispensing valve 17, the control means is removed from the container, the pressure-feed and liquid delivery pipes 14, 16 are connected together and a source of pressure-fed cleaning fluid is connected to the inlet end of the pipe 14. A connector 23, having a passage 24 therethrough, connects the pipes 14, 16 when the control means 15 is secured thereto. The pressure-fed cleaning fluid may be supplied by an electric kettle secured to the inlet end of pipe 14 or a reservoir of detergent liquid connected between the pressure reducing valve 13 and the inlet end of pipe 14. If in addition to the source of pressure a pump is used to dispense the liquid this may be by-passed during cleaning and cleaned separately.
