Abstract

1417401 Centrifugal pumps J T WADE & SON Ltd 20 March 1973 [20 March 1972] 12991/72 Heading F1C [ Also in Division A4] A liquid pumping system, e.g. for pumping beer from a container 10 to dispensing taps via delivery pipes 18, includes a centrifugal pump 13 driven by an electric motor 14, and a pair of pressuresensitive switches 20, 21 responsive to liquid pressure in the pump delivery pipe 16 and connected electrically in series in the motor supply circuit, the first switch 20 closing to start the motor 14 when the pressure in pipe 16 falls below a first value due to opening a tap, and opening to stop the motor when the pressure rises above a second valve due to closing the tap, and the second switch opening to stop the motor when the pressure in line 16 falls below a third minimum valve due to the container 10 being exhausted of beer and a tap being opened. The second switch has a manual reset lever 23 to close the switch after a full container 10 is connected.
