A system for the delivery in measured quantities of a carbonated beverage such as draught beer includes a refrigerated storage tank 1 connected to a dispenser 6 at a bar counter 7, a CO 2 bottle 8 connected by conduits 9, 11 to the tank and a metering pump 13, electrical switches and circuits ensuring that (a) the opening of the tap 6 is accompanied by operation of the pump to deliver a predetermined quantity of beer, (b) after termination of delivery the pump is prepared for a second delivery and (c) the second delivery cannot be commenced until such preparation is complete. The pump 13 comprises a container 21 and a diaphragm 23 which can lie on either wall, the container having on one side an inlet pipe 27 from the storage tank and on the other an inlet 28 from a source of pressure gas such as compressed air or compressed nitrogen, this conduit including a three-way control valve 29, and a discharge conduit 30 leads to a normally closed discharge outlet 31. When valve 32 of outlet 31 is opened control valve 29 is automatically put into a position where pressure gas enters the chamber 21 to deflect the diaphragm and expel the contents of the other side of the chamber through the open tap, the conduits 27, 30 being non-return valves 33a, 33b.
