Abstract

1503661 Dispensing liquids BASS CHARRINGTON Ltd 8 May 1975 [8 Feb 1974] 00755/74 Heading B8N [Also in Division F2] In apparatus for controlling flow from a plurality of containers to a dispensing tap a rotary ball valve 10 is positioned at the inlet 16 of a centrifugal pump 11 and is actuated by an electric motor 23 to connect the pump inlet 16 to the other or a different inlet to the valve when flow in the inlet already connected ceases. Each inlet to the valve is connected via tubing and a flow sensor comprised by a floatoperated switch to a different container. Operation of a switch to indicate no flow causes the motor 23 to be energized to move the valve to connect another inlet to the pump inlet, operates an audible and visual indicator to indicate a container is empty, and stops the operation of the pump during change-over.
