977,454. Shearing. COMPAGNIE DES ATELIERS ET FORGES DE LA LOIRE. Nov. 26, 1963 [Dec. 7, 1962], No. 46673/63. Heading B3W. A device for driving a shear blade, comprising a rocker of girder section, to which rocking motion is imparted during which it rolls on the moving blade and imparts to it the desired motion. Fig. 1 shows a fixed blade 2 and a moving blade 1 which is actuated by the rocker 3. The rocker is articulated at 4 to a link 5 which is pivoted at 6, and the end 7 is actuated by an hydraulic ram. As the rocker moves to the position shown in chain-dotted lines in Fig. 4, the point of contact between the rocker and the blade moves from the position I to the position I<SP>1</SP>.
