[Also in Division B7] A ship for the transport of liquefied gases has a tank having an intermediate section constituted by a plurality of part cylinders 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f meeting at lines extending parallel with the axis of the ship and part spherical or ellipsoidal end sections, and vertical bulkheads 35 (without openings) and horizontal bulkheads 35a (with openings 35b) extending longitudinally in the tank, the bulkheads being welded to the said meeting lines and to horizontal and vertical stay tubes 7. The port cylinders and stay tubes have heat insulation 5 exterior to the tank volume. A dome 37 is provided at the fore part of the tank for liquefied gas delivery piping 38, delivery piping 39 of pressure gas to achieve liquid discharging, piping 40 for pressure balance between cylinders and safety valves 15. From covered sleeves 47 at the top and aft part of each of the parts of the tank separated by the vertical bulkheads depend cargo discharge suction tubes 41. The ship has an auxiliary tank 51, an unloading pump 53, a gas compressor 54 and a refrigerating plant. Speci- Bcation 920,144 also is referred to.
