Abstract

977,394. Receptacles for growing plants. H. T. GRISEBACH. April 12, 1961 [April 13, 1960], No. 13218/61. Heading A1E. [Also in Division B8] A container, e.g. a window box, of channel cross-section has a pair of resilient side walls which are corrugated transversely to the length of the container, and which converge towards their upper edges so as to allow insertion into the corrugations of transverse walls which are held in position by the resilience of the walls. The container may be injection moulded from a thermoplastics material. In one form (Figs. 2, 3), the container 10 has interal corrugations 11 and has a crosssection as shown in Fig. 2, projections 13, 17 enabling the container to be supported by wires 15, 18. An internal flange 19 at each end of the container enables two containers to be connected end to end by a U-shaped connecting piece 20. An internal partition is shown at 22. In another embodiment (Fig. 5) in which the walls are corrugated both internally and externally the partitions 28 are additionally supported by hook members 30. A price ticket 32 may be provided. An air and water permeable lining may be provided for maintaining an air cushion around the contents of the container between the lining and the container walls.
