Abstract
977,257. Removing dust generated in industrial processes. PARKS-CRAMER (GREAT BRITAIN) Ltd. April 9, 1962 [May 12, 1961], No. 13520/62. Heading F4X. [Also in Division D1] A travelling suction cleaning apparatus ,in a textile mill where lint laden air is sucked through flexible ducts 20 by a suction blower 11 and passed into a material collection chamber 14 movable with the suction blower 11 and from which clean air escapes, has a receptacle 40 into which moves at least a portion of the chamber 14, including a normally closed discharge opening, while the interior of the receptacle is subjected to suction to assist in transferring the collected material to the receptacle. The blower 11 and chamber 14 reciprocate on overhead rails 24. The chamber comprises a filter 30 in the top wall, and another filter in a spring-closed door 31 pivoted at the discharge opening and opened by a cam 46 and follower mechanism 47 as the chamber enters the stationary receptacle. Almost simultaneously an electric switch 93 is closed by the suction cleaner 10. This causes both an air cylinder r to be exhausted thereby opening swing doors A, B (Fig. 8, not shown), in the receptacle 40 to connect it to a suction duct, and compressed air to be supplied to jets in an air pipe 80 so that the filter 30 is cleaned as it enters and leaves the receptacle. The material passes through the duct to a storage station. A timer is inserted in the electric circuit so that the pipe 80 and receptacle 40 are connected to the compressed air and suction duct respectively while the chamber enters and leaves the receptacle. A screen 101 prevents air from pipe 80 entering the discharge opening. Specification 852,765 is referred to.
