A single-ply belt has its end portions 1, 2 joined together by forming complementary digitate extensions such as parts 8, 11, placing the portion in interdigitating relationship, covering the portions with uncured elastomer such as rubber and vulcanising the whole under heat and pressure. A fabric cover 5 of nylon is included.
