976,904. Treating tobacco. K. KÍRBER. Sept. 17, 1962 [Jan. 3, 1962], No. 263/62. Heading A2C. [Also in Division B2] In an apparatus for stripping and threshing tobacco leaf material and separating out stripped leaf particles a supply belt 1 delivers tobacco to a box 2 supplying a threshing and stripping cage 6 having an intermediate wall 5 which divides the mixed material equally into two separate streams which are then received in collecting devices 7, 8 and conveyed pneumatically via pipes 9, 10 and intake ducts 11, 12 into partial separator chambers 15, 16 formed by a vertical dividing wall 14 in a single-separator chamber 13 having an outer casing 19. Apart from the division wall 14 the separator is similar to that described in Specification 976,903. Particles of tobacco leaf are carried upwardly by the air current and taffen off through the extractor pipes 20, 21 of a single extractor device (not shown).
