Abstract

1,116,786. Drying tea. HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO. K.G. 19 July, 1966 [4 Aug., 1965], No. 32464/66. Heading F4G. Apparatus for drying tea or like foliate material comprises a chamber 2 through which the material is carried by a current of heated gas supplied at 4 to an upper outlet 6 and the material is fed to an opening 12 in the chamber wall by a rotary valve feeder assembly 38 which delivers regulated amounts of material on to a horizontally-mounted vibratory conveyer 14 connected in sealed manner to the chamber wall. The rotary valve has its driving shaft 40 parallel to the feed direction of the conveyer 14.
