A projectile for a hand firearm comprises a guide device in the form of a multiflanged synthetic resin plug. The resin is preferably polyethylene. The projectile 1 has grooves 2, and the plug has a stem which engages in a hone in the projectile. Alternatively, the projectile may be provided with a stem disposed in a hone of larger diameter in the projectile, the plug stem being hollow and thus engaging the projectile on both internal and external surfaces.
