Abstract

The invention comprises the pigment of the formula <FORM:0976071/C4-C5/1> The pigment is obtained by reaction of 1,9-pyrimidinoanthrone - 2 - carbonylic acid or an acid derivative thereof with 1-amino-4-methoxy-anthraquinone. Examples of acid derivatives are the carboxylic acid amides, esters and acid halides especially the chloride. The reaction is done in an inert solvent and/or diluent at temperatures preferably above 80 DEG C. When using the free carboxylic acid a halogenating agent, e.g. thionyl chloride, and a tertiary amine or low molecular weight aliphatic carboxylic amide are also employed in the reaction.
