976,033. Hose couplings. ANCHOR COUPLING CO. Inc. July 4, 1963, No. 26590/63. Heading F2G. In a coupling comprising a coupling body 1, including an attaching head 2, having an extension 3 for insertion into the end of a hose of rubber or other resilient material, and a pair of complementary, semi-cylindrical segments 9 contracted by bolts 11 on to the outer surface of the hose, each segment has inwardly projecting dam-forming means, such as ribs 16, disposed along opposite sides thereof for retarding the flow of hose wall material and reducing extrusion of the material between the longitudinal facing edges of the segments. As shown, the segments have peripheral ribs 12 and oblique ribs 16, and flanges 13 which engage a compressible ring 14.
