Abstract

975,811. Screw propellers. E. E. TULLY, and T. A. H. J. FLETT. Oct. 12, 1961 [July 14, 1960], No. 24513/60. Heading B7V. A ship's propeller has a single aperture 11 in its driving surface which communicates, by a curved passageway 12 and a passageway 13 in the boss, with an aperture 15 in the rear end of the boss. The aperture 11 is located at a distance from the root of the blade of approximately one-third of the distance from root to tip and is closer to the trailing edge than the leading edge. Specification 396,716 is referred to.
