974,823. Vehicle spring suspensions. W. HILDEBRANDT. April 14, 1961; No. 13606/61. Heading B7D. [Also in Division B8] The suspension of a traction vehicle 1 (Fig. 2) which is designed to be coupled rigidly to a load-carrying platform 5 includes two axle assemblies 15, 16, the axles of which are each mounted on rigid arms 17, 18 (Fig. 3) resiliently interconnected as at 20, 21 and provided with means for further restraining the pivoting of the arms when the loadcarrying platform is uncoupled. In the form illustrated the further restraint comprises hydraulic rams 22, 23 on the chassis adapted to abut the arms 17, 18. The constraint may be such as to permit resilient movement of the axles. The traction vehicle illustrated includes a crane, the jib of which is shown folded in Fig. 2, and which has a roller fitting 12, 13 which can be used for tipping the body as shown. The coupling between the traction vehicle and the load-carrying platform may include two transversely spaced inter-engaging cone fittings 4.
