Abstract

974,133. Two-part couplings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Jan. 15, 1963 [March 6, 1962], No. 8637/62. Heading H2E. The contacts of a printed circuit connector comprise a resilient circuit-engaging portion and a separate terminal portion having a rigid leg suitable for wrapped connections, the terminal portion being welded on to a tail of the resilient portion which extends outside the connector body. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, the tails 6 of resilient contacts 3 are welded'to the sides of an enlarged base portion 11 of the terminal, which is located in transverse slots in the bottom surface of connector body 1 by opposed ribs projecting into the slots and by a recess 12 in base 11 engaging a further body projection 10. In another embodiment, Figs. 4, 5, an enlarged terminal base portion 11a has arms 16a which extend around the sides of connector body 1a into slots 15 formed therein, passing through apertures in contact tails 6a, which are bent as shown to lie along the sides of base 11a and are there welded.
