974,045. Pelletizing by extrusion. CALIFORNIA PRESS MANUFACTURING CO., [trading as CALIFORNIA PELLET MILL CO.]. April 10, 1963, No. 14295/63. Heading B5A. In a pelletizing apparatus in which the material to be pelleted is forced by a roll through a perforated die, the die holes traversed by an edge portion of the roll have a lower resistance to extrusion than those tranversed by an intermediate portion of the roll. The annular die 1 illustrated has seven rows of holes 9, the inner three being of conventional form whilst the outer rows are counterbored, the counterbores 17 of the outermost rows being of greater depth than the counterbores 19 of the rows adjacent thereto.
