Abstract

973,502. Connecting chairs in rows. NEW EQUIPMENT Ltd. Sept. 14, 1961 [Sept. 14, 1960], No. 31669/60. Heading A4U. A device for joining two chairs comprises two sockets 6 in alignment, one on each of the chairs to be joined, the sockets each having a bore open at both ends, a connecting member 2 the ends of which each have a male member adapted to enter the bore and a latch 10 for engagement with that face of the socket which is remote from the other chair. The connecting member comprises a tube 2, a rod 8 loosely fitting the tube having a head or latch 10 at each end larger than the bore of the tube, which heads will each, after being slid through their respective sockets, drop and engage the latching face of the socket. The tube 2 is fitted with collars 4 which form stops against which the entry faces of the sockets can abut.
