Abstract

1,009,167. Furniture joints. J. TOSH. Sept. 25, 1964 [Oct. 4, 1963], No. 39241/63. Heading A4H. In a furniture frame construction having adjoining tubular members 1 at right angles to each other with a mitred joint each member has apertures 3 of part circular shape through which are passed the bifurcations 6 of an element 4 to secure the members 1 together, the projecting portion of element 4 providing a spigot 7 on one side of the frame members. A cylindrical plug 12 divided into two parts is inserted between the bifurcations, one part having pins 13 which engage sockets 14 in the other part and a screw 17 engages a threaded socket in the first part and when screwed in pushes the two parts apart to secure the spigot 7 in its socket.
