Abstract

972,939. Surgical injection apparatus. ALLEN & HANBURYS Ltd. July 29, 1963 [Aug. 3, 1962], No. 29956/62. Heading A5R. An assembly for supplying liquid medicament to a multiple dose injector comprises two containers with associated connecting tubing which allows the supply of liquid to continue without interruption. A holder 2 has a central tube 9 providing communication between points near the bases of two containers 1, 3, a tube 4 connecting a point near the neck of the container 1 with the injection device I and a third tube 6 connecting the top of the container 3 with the atmosphere, through a bacterial filter 8. As liquid is drawn from container 1 by the injector, it is replaced by liquid, from container 3, which flows up the tube 9 and air enters the system through the tube 6. When the second container 3 becomes empty it is replaced by a fresh, filled container, but, during the changeover period, use of the injector continues without interruption as the supply is continuously available in container 1.
